My experience working with Universal roofing contractors was excellent. My project manager David Alger was on top of all aspects of my project. It was pretty large (around 90 squares total ) for residential including my main house roof, gutter work and solar attic fan upgrades along with a separate pole barn structure roof. Their drone captured some damage I didn’t even know about on the main house and was thoroughly captured in my estimate. Overall pricing was not the cheapest of my estimates, but I felt the level of service and “one stop shop” to fix anything while replacing my roof is and was a definite plus. No worrying about a middle man to point fingers about any repairs or gutter work that needed done!!! The materials I chose were absolutely the highest end shingles possible in the market today so I am sure that had something to do with pricing, but I wouldn’t change anything as my home is my asset!!! Thank you to the universal contractor team for a smooth well performed project!!!

Universal Roofing did an outstanding job on replacing my roof and gutters, every one was informative and courteous
So pleased with the help Estimator Kristian Palmer gave me by taking the time to examine my roof and explain all the ins and outs involved in getting a new more hurricane proof roof. Took the time to answer all my questions and convinced me that Universal would be my best choice. Thank you, Kristian!
Marty is exceedingly professional and takes great care of his customers
A great decision going with Universal Roofing, the process was smooth and completed in a timely manner. Michael Parent ensured to update me through the whole repair and manage the project very professionally!
Universal =5 stars and I wish 6 stars were a option. Marty, Karson, Jared all men of INTEGRITY. Every thing happened like clock work and the communication was PHENOMENAL. I interviewed 6 different roofing companies before I decided on universal roofing. The greatest decision I ever made. Everything happened as they said it was going to happen. Don’t waste your time with any other roofing companies. Ask for Marty, Karson, Jared, you won’t have ANY regrets.
Spoke with David and he helped me with getting the roof replaced quick and painless. Eddie and his crew did a nice job replacing the roof. would recommend them if you want the job done right.
David and Carson were very Professional, neat, and very knowledgeable. They both gave us an easy confident feeling while deciding to make such a substantial investment. Kudos to the crew as well for being very efficient, and for cleaning up the mess with great detail.
If you are looking for a roofing company, you need look no further. I cannot express how pleased I am with my experience with Universal Roof & Contracting in Jacksonville. They came highly recommended and did not disappoint. I mostly dealt with Karson, Dalton and Justin, who could not have been more accommodating. They were professional, always kept me informed and communicated issues that evolved. They saw my project through to the end delivering high quality work.

About Interlachen
Interlachen is an incorporated town in Putnam County, incorporated in 1888. Interlachen Hall, a two-story frame building completed in 1892, has served as the town's government and community meeting center ever since, and it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on June 2, 2000.
The Putnam County Library System runs one of its four branches in the town. The 2020 Census counted 1,441 residents.
Interlachen Homes and What Their Roofs Face
The weather those roofs answer to is measurable. NOAA's 1991–2020 normals for the Jacksonville station put annual rainfall at 53.4 inches, with 54% of it falling June through September and 7.6 inches in June alone. Most of that rain arrives in summer storms, often wind-driven, and it finds any weak flashing detail on Interlachen rooflines quickly.
Humidity, sun, and that rainfall all work on Interlachen roofs, and edges, penetrations and fasteners are where we start every inspection.
Storms Interlachen Has Answered To
Interlachen sits in the inland storm region, and the record is specific: Irma (2017) — crossed Central Florida as a hurricane; minor to moderate damage to many structures, widespread tree damage (NOAA/NHC TCR AL112017). Milton (2024) — hurricane-force gusts in Central Florida near the track; 14.83" of rain recorded near Orlando (NOAA/NHC TCR AL142024).
After any of those, the useful thing a homeowner can do is document from the ground: photograph what is visible, note the date, check ceilings that night and again a week later. Then get a professional assessment before small openings become interior damage. We run storm routes across Putnam County and put findings in writing with photographs — no scare tactics, no inflated damage lists.

Interlachen Roofing Questions
Is the inspection really free?
Yes, genuinely: no fee, no obligation, and you keep the written report and photos either way. It's how we've introduced ourselves to Florida homeowners since 1993 — many inspections end with good news and a watch list.
How long do roofs last in Interlachen?
Shingle: about 20 years. Tile: more than 50 with care, per a National Association of Home Builders study. Metal depends on the product, so ask for its warranty term. Installation quality decides which end of the range your roof lands on.
Can a handyman repair a roof in Florida?
Florida's licensing agency says no: roof repairs and roof installations require a state license. Before anyone touches your roof, verify the state license and the insurance behind it. We hold CCC057165 & CBC1258484 and full coverage.
