Asphalt shingle is a common roof on the First Coast — and on a humid, salt-air coast, the shingle system you choose matters. Our Owens Corning shingles carry StreakGuard algae resistance (warranted for 25 years) for exactly this climate, and as Platinum Preferred Contractors we back them with a limited lifetime warranty under 1% of roofing contractors can offer.

Universal Roofing did an amazing job on our new roof! From suggesting the color of the shingles, to speedy installation and clean up, to always explaining the process, the entire team was friendly and professional. We have used them before and definitely will use them again.
Universal Roofing just installed a beautiful new roof on our home. This is the third time we have used this company over the years. They were professional, knowledgeable and honest — the city inspector even mentioned he was impressed with their work. We highly recommend them for all your roofing needs.
They were a very good company, especially the first time I met with David, the salesperson — professional and so knowledgeable about what I wanted done. They worked diligently with me and my husband when we ran into some problems because it's an older home. It's so outstanding, I know I'll give them more business.
Mike Ramos was the project manager on my roofing job. He kept me informed every step of the project and insured the work was completed properly and with minimal disruption to our life. I would highly recommend Mike and URC to my friends and neighbors.
Getting a new roof can be scary, but this company made the process easy and affordable for me. I was very pleased with the customer service and the quick, clean completion of the job — good attention to small details and response to my concerns. Thank you Ms. Diana and Tyler and crew.
Ken, our salesman, was amazing through the whole process. Everyone in the office was easy to work with and they did a great job making sure the yard was cleaned after like nothing ever happened. Our roof looks amazing and I love the color we picked! Would recommend to any friends.

The black streaks that spread across coastal roofs are algae, and First Coast humidity feeds them. Our Owens Corning shingles carry StreakGuard algae resistance, warranted for 25 years — so a Jacksonville roof stays looking new years longer than a bargain shingle would.
Our Owens Corning shingles carry a wind warranty engineered for a storm state. Installed correctly and correctly ventilated, they shrug off the salt air and coastal sun that age a lesser roof early.
As Platinum Preferred Contractors — under 1% of roofing contractors, per Owens Corning — we can offer the Platinum Protection warranty, backed by Owens Corning itself: a limited lifetime warranty with full coverage on materials for the first 50 years and workmanship coverage that reduces after 25 years. It can be transferred to the next owner within 60 days of a sale.
An asphalt shingle roof is commonly expected to last around 20 years, and coastal salt air, humidity and sun can shorten that. On the coast, ventilation and a correct install decide where yours lands. Install quality is the whole ballgame — the part we're obsessive about.
As Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractors — a tier Owens Corning says is held by under 1% of roofing contractors — we can offer the Platinum Protection warranty, backed by Owens Corning itself: a limited lifetime warranty with full TRU PROtection coverage on materials for the first 50 years, plus workmanship coverage that is lifetime but reduces after 25 years. More than half of new construction businesses close within ten years (U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), so a warranty that leans on your contractor alone is worth less than one the manufacturer stands behind. It can also be transferred to the next owner within 60 days of a sale.
Our certifications
Thicker, layered shingles with depth and shadow lines that mimic wood shake or slate. They carry more weight per square and are what we install on most homes.
The classic flat, uniform shingle — the most economical option, still America's baseline. Lighter-duty than architectural, and a fit where budget leads the decision.
The premium tier: oversized, multi-dimensional shingles that read like natural slate or shake from the curb.
The same streamlined process on every roof — from an accurate quote to an impeccable installation.
Book online or call — we arrive on time, ready to listen.
Your goals, your budget, and the right materials for you.
Photos, a written report, and a transparent quote that holds.
The install lands on your calendar, not ours. No surprises.
A trained crew, a clean yard, and a roof installation done right.
We install across the First Coast — Jacksonville plus Orange Park, Ponte Vedra Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Palm Coast, St. Augustine, Atlantic Beach, and Fernandina Beach. Don't see your town? We cover 180+ communities.
Asphalt shingle is the most budget-friendly full roof we install. The number moves with your roof's size, pitch, tear-off layers and the shingle line you choose, so every project starts with a free inspection and a written, itemized quote. Financing is available. Comparing quotes? Our Florida roof buyer's checklist covers the five questions to ask any roofer.
That's algae, and First Coast humidity feeds it. Our Owens Corning systems have algae resistance built into the shingle, so a new roof stays looking clean years longer. If your current roof is streaked, the free inspection tells you whether it's cosmetic or a sign of deeper wear.

A certification Owens Corning says is held by under 1% of roofing contractors. It's what lets us offer the Platinum warranty — coverage backed by Owens Corning itself, not just by us. On the coast, where roofers come and go, a manufacturer-backed warranty is worth far more than a contractor-only one.
Yes — and older homes are where experience earns its keep. Aged decking, past layers and tricky details all complicate a re-roof, and our crews work through them. We inspect the decking, fix what's soft, and install the new system over a sound base.
A free inspection, real shingle samples against your own home, and an Owens Corning Platinum warranty most Jacksonville roofers can't offer.
