Hear ye, hear ye, one and all! Eddie Alacan, is the man for the job! He was up next to complete his task, the roof. Eddie and his crew began and completed the roof project as promised, one day. I was informed throughout the process and thankful for a professional team that I was able to depend on to say, “we’ll done”. When you’re looking for a no nonsense team that is about their expertise of their craft, a team who doesn’t side step the details, check out the team that you can say, “well done” and check out University Roof & Contractors. A big shout out to Daniel “the man” in charge of scheduling who pass on the other “man” to me. Thank you for the team players of Universal Roof & Contractors who are the hand and glove and the heart and soul of the company; Jon, Daniel and Eddie. Thank you so very much, Muriel
I originally found out about this company through a neighbor, and so I called them for an estimate. I am extremely happy with the end result of my roof, and remain impressed with the politeness and professionalism of both the people that work at the office, and everyone that I know worked on my roof. Through Jordan Huff, I got some of your cards and give them to pretty much anyone who even mentions needing to get their roof fixed. I've gotten so many compliments on my roof, and that just assures me even more that Universal Roof & Contracting was the right decision. I hope your company keeps up the fantastic work and continues to do well in the future. Thank you again! Gisi Taglieri
After 18 years of Florida sun and rain, we needed a new roof. I contacted Devon at Universal Roof and promptly received a call back to set up appointment. We had contacted some other companies but they were slow to return calls or stated they could not complete a roof replacement for about 4-6 months as they were busy and with the pandemic it took a bit of time to get shingles. Devon came by and in a professional manner evaluated our roof and and gave us the information. Because of the roofing shingle issue the other companies have told us about, he stated he anticipated a month or so. That was less than others quoted and we were pleased with the entire interaction so we signed for a replacement after being given a choice of shingles. Imagine our surprise when I was contacted by the Universal office to schedule our replacement roof just a few weeks later!! Our new roof was installed within a month! A problem area was identified that could not be seen until the old roof was removed and I was immediately notified of problem and the cost to repair. I was expecting a huge amount (because my luck is usually like that) but it was SO reasonable!! Frankly I was surprised that it even covered the materials needed. Devon himself stopped by to check afterwards to see if all was well and if there were any concerns. We could not ask for more! Would definitely recommend. We wish all our home improvement projects went this smoothly!
Dear Homeowner in need of a review. Let me be the voice of reason for this important home project. We interviewed upwards of 12 companies. No kidding. We went through a host of emotions trying to figure out who we could trust, who would do quality work, who was affordable and who would provide us with what we so badly needed- a sturdy roof. I originally worked with Charles H. Quality!!!! Man. Quality Professional!!! As the job was coming to an end I met Eddie Alacan- A Blessing with a Capital B. Just good solid Men with integrity. Universal will get All of our Business. Hands down- The Best!!
Repairs needed resulted from tree damage during inclement weather. David Alger facilitated not only a satisfactory repair but also provided significant documentation and professional advice that aided me with arbitration. Insurance company underestimated extent of damage, amount of material needed and listed material that did not meet Florida building code. David Alger offered his professional expertise with identifying these errors and resulted in my successful challenge to the insurance company during arbitration. A satisfactory financial settlement was reached. Thank you David and Universal Roofing.
The workmanship and customer service was second to none. Had a few consultations with Marty and he helped explain everything before doing a complete roof on our house. The crew did a great job and knocked out a 3000+sq./ft house in ONE day. Was amazed by the clean up and the final product. Would highly recommend.
Did great job, did work in a professional manner, David was there keeping everything moving, the crew was unbelievable what they did in one day, iam very happy I had Universal do my roof, again great job, if anyone asks I will send them your way.
Great company - they keep their promises and gave me an awesome roof on my house and garage (& replaced hardee board and flashing on adjacent to my screen room) . I highly recommend them to replace your old roof …,but I’d definitely insist on my own magnet to pick up nails they missed !

About Bryceville
Bryceville is an unincorporated community in Nassau County. The county runs a community center, a lighted baseball and softball ballpark and a branch library at the same address on Motes Road. The county's comprehensive plan lists several older homes in the area, including the William Pringle House and the Henry J. Stokes House, among residential structures of historical significance on the Florida Master Site File.
Bryceville Homes and What Their Roofs Face
The weather those roofs answer to is measurable. NOAA's 1991–2020 normals for the Jacksonville station put annual rainfall at 53.4 inches, with 54% of it falling June through September and 7.6 inches in June alone. Most of that rain arrives in summer storms, often wind-driven, and it finds any weak flashing detail on Bryceville rooflines quickly.
Humidity, sun, and that rainfall all work on Bryceville roofs, and edges, penetrations and fasteners are where we start every inspection.
Storms Bryceville Has Answered To
Bryceville sits in the Atlantic storm region, and the record is specific: Nicole (2022) — November landfall at Vero Beach; storm surge and beach erosion damage up the east coast to Jacksonville (NOAA/NHC TCR AL172022). Matthew (2016) — paralleled the northeast Florida coast; significant wind and surge damage from the Space Coast to Jacksonville (NOAA/NHC TCR AL142016).
After any of those, the useful thing a homeowner can do is document from the ground: photograph what is visible, note the date, check ceilings that night and again a week later. Then get a professional assessment before small openings become interior damage. We run storm routes across Nassau County and put findings in writing with photographs — no scare tactics, no inflated damage lists.
Not sure which of these your roof needs?
The free inspection answers it with photos and a written report.

Bryceville Roofing Questions
Repair or replace — how do you decide?
The test is scope and remaining life: contained damage on a healthy roof gets repaired; spreading wear, leaks that keep finding new paths, or a roof in its final stretch gets a replacement conversation, because repeated patching on a failing roof adds up. Our recommendation always arrives in writing, with photos.
What does a roof replacement cost in Bryceville?
No honest number exists without seeing the roof — size, pitch, tear-off depth, decking condition, and the material system move the total more than any average can capture. What we promise Bryceville homeowners instead: a free inspection first, then a line-by-line estimate where the approved price is the built price.
What time of year is best for roof work here?
Exterior work runs year-round in Florida, but fall is the sweet spot for big projects — easier on crews and materials, and it puts a sound roof over you before the next storm season instead of after it.
