UniversalRoofing? did what they said they were going to do and did a good job. The job is a large one that started and ended on time. The project manager (Mike) assigned to our project insured good communication and was always available for questions or concerns. Twice a day there were project updates that included photos of the work done that day. The office staff (especially Raven & Olga) were friendly, helpful and responsive. I would recommend them to my friends and family if anyone needs a new roof.

We are very happy with the whole process of getting a roof replacement for our home by Universal Roof and Contracting. Robert Collins gave us a fair and complete proposal, and took time to cover all of the details. Bailey Hinshaw, Project Mgr. was excellent in being here during the day of the install and answering all of the questions we had. Bailey went above and beyond to make sure we were confident that everything was done properly. He is very professional and doesn’t miss a beat. He is definitely an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. Bob & Bonnie Irvine
From our first exchange with Universal Roofing we felt as if we had picked the right company. We were assigned Mike Ramos as our Project Manager and I can’t say enough positive things about Mike. He was prompt, courteous and his communication skills are excellent. The crew was adept and excellent. And at the end of the project our site/lawn/driveway/ shrubs were neat and tidy. Highly recommend this company and Mike.
Universal roofing company is by far one of the most professional, courteous and friendly companies. Archie and Spencer were very informative throughout the entire process and made the roof replacement less stressful. Raven in the office was also great with the back end. I would recommend them for your roof work.
This company is the standard for professionalism. Every person I talked to from beginning to end was very polite, informative and professional. I was kept informed every step of the way of what to expect and they delivered excellence. Highly recommend them.
The entire experience with Tony and Bill and the team was outstanding. Honest and hard working!
Zach and his crew were excellent to work with. Hard workers, communicated well, and the clean up was first-rate!
I sent a negative review regarding how business was being conducted; however, Universal conducted business well. I had totally forgotten that the confirmation was placed a few weeks ago, but with so much on my plate, I acted hatefully and unfairly. To Universal Roof, I want to render my sincerest apologies. Thank you, Jason Serrano and crew for your professionalism and business. Again, I am truly sorry. I will do business with any other company except Universal. Thank you.
Mike Emrich was our sales representative. Met with us at our home and was excellent and very helpful. Mike walked us through every step and stayed in contact with us the whole way. Olga Campos was a very helpful operations manager. Great with communication whenever it was needed. Services were perfect and done right on time! Thank you universal roofing!!

What Satellite Beach Does to a Roof
Roofs across the Space Coast answer to three things, all year, every year. Here's what each one does — with the numbers behind it.
Sun
Strong sun breaks down shingle asphalt and fades finishes over time, so Florida roofs need regular checks.
Salt
Atlantic salt air corrodes exposed metal fasteners, flashing, and gutter seams. Corrosion-resistant materials matter this close to the coast.
Storms
Summer squall lines and the occasional named storm bring hard, wind-driven rain that finds every weak detail.
51.45"
annual rainfall at the Orlando Intl Ap station
57%
of it falls June through September
8.05"
in June alone — the peak month

Roof Repair in Satellite Beach
Roof trouble in Satellite Beach rarely announces itself. It starts as one lifted shingle or a slow drip at a flashing joint — and the difference between a cheap fix and a big one is how soon someone looks.

Satellite Beach sits inside our Brevard County repair territory. Every repair visit ends the same way: the problem you called about fixed, the surrounding field and flashings checked, and photos of both in your inbox.
Active leak? We tarp or seal first and schedule the permanent repair behind it — documented, so you have the record.
Shingles gone after a blow
Wind takes the weakest tabs first. A same-month repair keeps the deck dry underneath.
Granules in the gutters
Shingle surfaces shedding — the field is aging, and it's time to watch it.
Water marks inside
The drip point is almost never below the entry point. Finding the real path is the job.
Flashing and fastener wear
A common leak point, and one Florida weather works on early.
Roof Replacement
What actually drives a replacement quote — and how concealed damage is handled if tear-off uncovers it.

A completed Universal replacement — one to three days on most homes.
We install to manufacturer specification with the underlayment and ventilation the warranty actually requires — as an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred contractor (a tier held by fewer than 1% of roofing contractors), we offer warranty protection most roofers can't. The estimate is line-by-line, and the price you approve is the scope we build; change orders only happen when opened decking reveals something no one could see, and you approve those too.
Two planning notes from thousands of projects across the Space Coast: replace end-of-life soffit, fascia, and gutters with the roof — one mobilization, every connected component sealed at once — and if you have flexibility, fall timing puts a fresh roof over you before storm season instead of after it. Most residential replacements in Satellite Beach finish in one to three days.
Size, pitch & complexity
Cut-up roofs with dormers and valleys take longer than simple gables — and price accordingly.
Tear-off & decking
How many layers come up, and what the decking looks like once exposed. You approve anything it reveals.
The material system
Shingle, metal, tile, or slate — specified for Florida exposure, not upsold.
Flashing & ventilation
The details that separate a code-minimum job from one that reaches its rated life.
Every Satellite Beach replacement starts with the free inspection.
Roof Inspections
In Satellite Beach we recommend checking your roof twice a year, in spring and fall, plus after any major storm. Our professional inspection is free, with a written report you keep either way.
Field & fasteners
Wear, granule loss, and fastener condition across the whole covering.
Flashing & penetrations
Common leak points, so we check every boot, valley, and transition.
The roof edge
Soffit, fascia, and gutters for rot, separation, and pest entry.
The attic side
Moisture staining, ventilation problems, and daylight where there shouldn't be any.
Coastal corrosion
Salt-air wear on fasteners and flashing gets extra attention on every coastal roof.
What you get is a documented condition file: photos, findings, remaining-life assessment, in writing, free. We built the process for homeowners across the Space Coast who want evidence instead of sales pressure — many inspections end with a clean bill and a watch list, and the report belongs to you either way.

Storm Damage in Satellite Beach
Satellite Beach faces the Atlantic side of Florida's storm ledger — Matthew, Irma, and Nicole all left marks on this coast. After it passes, a five-minute ground check tells you whether to call.
01 Ground scan first
Never climb after a storm. Missing tabs, sagging ridge lines, and displaced flashing all show from the yard.
02 Read the downspouts
A pile of granules at the splash block is the roof reporting damage.
03 Circle the property
Shingle pieces and drip-edge sections in the grass map where the wind got in.
04 Check ceilings that night
And again in a week — storm water can take days to show inside.
05 Document and call
Photos with dates from the ground; our written assessment fills in the rest.
Nicole
November landfall at Vero Beach; storm surge and beach erosion damage up the east coast to Jacksonville (NOAA/NHC TCR AL172022)
Matthew
paralleled the northeast Florida coast; significant wind and surge damage from the Space Coast to Jacksonville (NOAA/NHC TCR AL142016)
Irma
more than 7,000 homes damaged in Brevard County; hurricane-force gusts and record flooding around Jacksonville (NOAA/NHC TCR AL112017)
After a storm crosses the Space Coast, our crews run assessment routes the same week — tarping first where roofs need immediate protection, then documented damage reports with photographs. You learn exactly what happened and what fixing it involves; the decision stays yours. And if the roof was already near end-of-life, we'll say so instead of patching around it.
Residential Roofing
Asphalt shingle is the default on many Satellite Beach homes, but the default isn't automatically the right answer for your house.

81.9% of occupied homes in Satellite Beach are owner-occupied, and the median owner-occupied home value is $502,500 (U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts, 2020–2024). Ours is the math of protecting that investment: the right system, installed to specification, maintained on a schedule.
We install every mainstream system — shingle, metal, tile, and flat — so the recommendation follows your house and budget, not whichever material a contractor happens to sell. The full comparison is below.
The house & neighborhood
Age, style, and what the street is built around — a roof has to belong where it lives.
Your ownership horizon
Selling in five years and staying thirty produce different right answers.
Budget, now vs. 30 years
Upfront cost against lifetime cost — repairs, energy, and how many more roofs you'll buy.
Installation quality
The same materials last longer or fail early depending on underlayment, ventilation, and flashing work.
Not sure which of these your roof needs?
The free inspection answers it with photos and a written report.
Commercial Roofing
A commercial roof in Satellite Beach protects inventory, equipment, and people, and it is built under the Florida Building Code, rated among the strongest of the hurricane-coast states by IBHS.

The right system follows the building — deck construction, equipment loads, drainage, and how long you're holding it. White TPO reflects heat and helps with cooling costs; properly fastened metal performs well in high winds; modified bitumen remains a proven choice on the right deck.
What keeps any of them performing is cadence: inspections every year and after every storm, clear drains, prompt small repairs. We run that cadence on a maintenance plan with documentation you keep.
The 25% rule
If more than 25% of a roof section is repaired or replaced within 12 months, the whole section must meet current code, unless the roof was built to the 2007 Florida Building Code or later.
Licensing & permits
Commercial roof repairs and installations require a Florida-licensed contractor, and most need a permit from the local building department.
System choice
TPO for energy efficiency; metal for hurricane resistance and lifespan; modified bitumen where the deck calls for it.
Maintenance cadence
Annual and post-storm inspections, clear drains, prompt membrane repairs — where commercial roofs are won or lost.
Gutters, Soffit & Fascia
Gutters, soffit, and fascia do unglamorous work — and in Satellite Beach they take the weather's first hit, every single day.

Fix the contained stuff, replace the far-gone stuff, and bundle edge work with any roof replacement — one mobilization instead of two. Seamless aluminum gutters carry our rainfall with the fewest joints to fail; vinyl soffit and aluminum fascia resist what the air here does to lesser materials.
Soft or spongy fascia
The material underneath is already compromised — past the repair window.
Stains on exterior walls
Water escaping the drainage path and running where it shouldn't.
Sagging, overflowing gutters
Chronic overflow usually means repairs are no longer keeping up.
Rust at the seams
Sectional gutters fail at their joints — seamless aluminum has far fewer of them.

| System | Realistic Florida life | Wind rating (installed right) | Cost tier | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Metal (standing seam) | Varies by product; ask for the warranty term | Product-specific; we show you the rating | $$$ | Longevity, storms, energy bills |
| Architectural shingle | About 20 years | Class H shingles: rated for design wind speeds up to 194 mph | $ | Value, fast storm repairs |
| Tile (clay/concrete) | Over 50 years | High, code-driven | $$$ | Permanence, the Florida look |
| Metlok (only at Universal) | 50-year limited lifetime warranty | 180+ mph tested wind rating | $$$ | Longevity, high-wind exposure |
What moves every quote regardless of material: pitch and complexity, the product tier within the material, specialist labor where tile demands it, and structural reinforcement when weight requires it. Florida law also requires insurers to offer premium credits for wind-resistant construction features — a wind mitigation inspection documents what your roof qualifies for.

Satellite Beach Roofing Questions
How long do roofs last in Satellite Beach?
Realistic numbers for Satellite Beach: architectural asphalt shingle about 20 years and clay or concrete tile more than 50 years with proper care, based on a National Association of Home Builders study. Metal life depends on the product, so ask for its warranty term. Installation quality decides which end of the range your roof lands on.
Repair or replace — how do you decide?
The test is scope and remaining life: contained damage on a healthy roof gets repaired; spreading wear, leaks that keep finding new paths, or a roof in its final stretch gets a replacement conversation, because repeated patching on a failing roof adds up. Our recommendation always arrives in writing, with photos.
What should I do right after storm damage?
From the ground: photograph the damage you can see, note when it happened, and check ceilings that night and again in a week. Then get it professionally assessed — we cover Brevard County with same-week storm visits, emergency tarping, and written, photographed reports.
Can a handyman repair a roof in Florida?
No. Florida's licensing agency says roof repairs and roof installations require a state license. Verify the license and insurance before hiring anyone. Universal Roof & Contracting is state-licensed (CCC057165 & CBC1258484) and fully insured.
What does a roof replacement cost in Satellite Beach?
No honest number exists without seeing the roof — size, pitch, tear-off depth, decking condition, and the material system move the total more than any average can capture. What we promise Satellite Beach homeowners instead: a free inspection first, then a line-by-line estimate where the approved price is the built price.
Is the inspection really free?
Completely. You get the walkthrough, the photographs, and a written condition report at no cost, no strings — the report is yours even if we never hear from you again. Most end with 'you're fine, here's what to watch.'
How long does a roof installation take?
One to three days for most Satellite Beach homes, start to magnet-swept yard. Tile, steep, and cut-up roofs run longer; commercial ranges from days to weeks by size. You get a realistic window before work starts — and a heads-up if weather moves it.
What time of year is best for roof work here?
Roofing runs twelve months a year across the Space Coast, but if you can choose, choose fall: cooler working conditions, better material handling, and a finished roof standing before the next storm season opens.
