Mike was fantastic. He was kind, courteous and efficient. He explained everything clearly and gave me logical options. I’m thankful he was an honest, straight-shooter, and would DEFINITELY call him again in the future. Many thanks, Mike!

I am very satisfied with the roof and skylights that Universal Roofing has installed at my home. Tony Contreras was my project manager and did a great job of communicating during the entire process. He really does care about his customers.

Where we work

About Indian Harbour Beach

Indian Harbour Beach is an incorporated city in Brevard County, incorporated in 1955. The city says it developed as a residential community supporting the growing space industry at nearby Kennedy Space Center. It lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon.

Its 27-acre Gleason Park surrounds a lake with exercise paths, and its fire department is made up entirely of volunteers. The 2020 Census counted 9,019 residents.

On these roofs

Indian Harbour Beach Homes and What Their Roofs Face

The weather those roofs answer to is measurable. NOAA's 1991–2020 normals for the Orlando Intl Ap station put annual rainfall at 51.45 inches, with 57% of it falling June through September and 8.05 inches in June alone. Most of that rain arrives in summer storms, often wind-driven, and it finds any weak flashing detail on Indian Harbour Beach rooflines quickly.

Add salt air off the water and Florida UV, and all of it works on Indian Harbour Beach roofs. Edges, penetrations and fasteners are where our inspections start here.

Storm exposure

Storms Indian Harbour Beach Has Answered To

Indian Harbour Beach sits in the Atlantic storm region, and the record is specific: Nicole (2022) — November landfall at Vero Beach; storm surge and beach erosion damage up the east coast to Jacksonville (NOAA/NHC TCR AL172022). Matthew (2016) — paralleled the northeast Florida coast; significant wind and surge damage from the Space Coast to Jacksonville (NOAA/NHC TCR AL142016).

After any of those, the useful thing a homeowner can do is document from the ground: photograph what is visible, note the date, check ceilings that night and again a week later. Then get a professional assessment before small openings become interior damage. We run storm routes across Brevard County and put findings in writing with photographs — no scare tactics, no inflated damage lists.

The free inspection answers it with photos and a written report.

Straight answers

Indian Harbour Beach Roofing Questions

Can a handyman repair a roof in Florida?

No. Florida's licensing agency says roof repairs and roof installations require a state license. Verify the license and insurance before hiring anyone. Universal Roof & Contracting is state-licensed (CCC057165 & CBC1258484) and fully insured.

How long does a roof installation take?

Most residential replacements finish in one to three days. Tile and complex roofs run longer, and commercial projects range from days to weeks by size. We give you a realistic window up front.

Repair or replace — how do you decide?

Two questions decide it: how contained is the damage, and how much life does the field have left? Contained plus years remaining equals repair; spreading wear or a roof in its last stretch equals a replacement conversation, since patch money on a dying roof rarely buys much time. Either way, our recommendation comes documented.
