Dakota was excellent at explaining what was needed and service cost. Other companies estimates required several calls to get the price Dakota was clear with in the beginning. Yordanis Segura was the project manager the team showed up at 6:30am and the roof was not only completed by 4:30pm but they cleaned up like they had never been there. I also appreciated the gutter replacement was included in the roof price. The supplies and dumpster were delivered with care leaving space for me to still park in my garage. I cannot recommend them enough.
Very professional and courteous.always kept me updated . My project manager was Thomas Macvicker and I really recommend him very highly . Job was done smoothly and excellently.
From the beginning to the end of my experience with Universal roofing it was nothing but a great experience. They are a great company that was upfront about everything and did a stress free job. The salesman Richard Adamson was so knowledgeable and honest about everything unlike other companies. He helped us every step of the way and was a wealth of information about the process. The project manager Thomas McVicker was also great! He was here to make sure everything ran smoothly. The crew of approximately 9 showed up early and finished my roof in 2days. They put tarps all around my house and did an incredible job cleaning up. We had a few minor things that needed to be fixed and when I called Thomas he sent someone out immediately. He is easy to reach and did a great job of overseeing everything and made sure everything ran smoothly. I highly recommend this company and I rarely get to say this. Do not hesitate to use this company. I will recommend them to everyone needing a new roof
Used Universal Roof and Contracting to replace my existing roof. Results were excellent. No issues with the products, workers or scheduling. Would use Universal again if needed. Materials and installation came with warranty. All work carried out in professional manner. Good Job.
Had my roof installed this past Thursday. As promised it was.completed by Friday afternoon. The workers showed up on time and were very polite. Hard workers and cleaned up everything. I want to especially thank Jhonatan gil for his great communication letting me know what was happening throughout the process. Great company and employees. Would rec this company for your roofing needs.
Estimator Brian Blake was there throughout the whole process. Happy with the Results from recent roof upgrade. Selected premium materials. Job was staged two days before, and the work was completed in one day. Was an upgrade from existing roof. Was Worth the money for me and my family. With the increased Hurricane activity wanted a quality roof upgrade.
Universal Roof and Contracting made it easy to get my roof replacement. Don and Yordanis, were friendly, flexible, and kept me well informed. I’d recommend the experience to others.
Jonathan Gil and the crew were very professional. Finished the project in a timely manner. Highly recommend the company for any roofing project!

Universal Roof & Contracting serves New Port Richey with every major roofing service — repair, replacement, inspections, storm response, gutters, and all four mainstream roof systems — from our Tampa Bay office. Family-owned since 1993, BBB-accredited with an A+ rating, and Owens Corning Platinum Preferred. This page is the whole picture in one place; every section links to the full service behind it.
What New Port Richey Does to a Roof
Roofs across the Nature Coast side of Tampa Bay answer to three things, all year, every year. Here's what each one does — with the numbers behind it.
Sun
Strong sun breaks down shingle asphalt and fades finishes over time, so Florida roofs need regular checks.
Salt
Gulf salt air corrodes exposed metal fasteners, flashing, and gutter seams. Corrosion-resistant materials matter this close to the coast.
Storms
Summer squall lines and the occasional named storm bring hard, wind-driven rain that finds every weak detail.
46.65"
annual rainfall at the St Petersburg Ap station
63%
of it falls June through September
8.39"
in August alone — the peak month

City Limits Matter for a New Port Richey Roof Project
The City of New Port Richey says its Building Division handles construction review, permitting and inspections within the city limits. That boundary is the first detail to settle for a roof project. A New Port Richey mailing address should not be your only basis for selecting the city or county process. Confirm the parcel’s jurisdiction, then keep the estimate and permit documents under the same address and scope.
When you compare contractors, ask them to separate the condition assessment from the replacement proposal. A leak at one penetration may call for a focused repair; a proposal covering the whole roof needs an explanation of the wider findings. Request photos of the affected locations and identify any porch, garage or addition that carries a different roof system. Previous invoices are useful context, particularly if earlier work addressed the same area.
Plan the project around how the property is used. Tell the contractor about occupants who need uninterrupted access, a home office below the work or a tenant who needs advance notice. Agree on a delivery area, debris removal and a contact for decisions about hidden decking. For an occupied business, request a sequence that identifies the work zones and protects the entrance. None of these details is established by a square-foot price alone.

Roof Repair in New Port Richey
Roof damage in New Port Richey often starts small and moves fast once water finds a path. Catching it early is the whole game.

For a New Port Richey repair, map the interior symptom to an inspection area without assuming water entered directly above it. Ask what the contractor found at nearby penetrations, transitions and roof edges. The scope should distinguish the proposed repair from any additional issues that need monitoring or a separate decision.
Shingles gone after a blow
Wind takes the weakest tabs first. A same-month repair keeps the deck dry underneath.
Granules in the gutters
Shingle surfaces shedding — the field is aging, and it's time to watch it.
A stain that wasn't there
Interior spots mean the leak has a head start — water travels the deck before it drops.
Flashing and fastener wear
A common leak point, and one Florida weather works on early.
Not sure which of these your roof needs?
The free inspection answers it with photos and a written report.
Roof Replacement
What actually drives a replacement quote — and how concealed damage is handled if tear-off uncovers it.

A completed Universal replacement — one to three days on most homes.
Before a New Port Richey replacement is scheduled, confirm the responsible permitting authority, chosen assembly and any separate roof sections. Ask for a written method to approve concealed-decking changes. Keep the project’s final documentation rather than relying on the fact that the roof now looks finished.
Size, pitch & complexity
Cut-up roofs with dormers and valleys take longer than simple gables — and price accordingly.
Tear-off & decking
How many layers come up, and what the decking looks like once exposed. You approve anything it reveals.
The material system
Shingle, metal, tile, or slate — specified for Florida exposure, not upsold.
Flashing & ventilation
The details that separate a code-minimum job from one that reaches its rated life.
Every New Port Richey replacement starts with the free inspection.
Roof Inspections
In New Port Richey we recommend checking your roof twice a year, in spring and fall, plus after any major storm. Our professional inspection is free, with a written report you keep either way.
Field & fasteners
Wear, granule loss, and fastener condition across the whole covering.
Flashing & penetrations
Common leak points, so we check every boot, valley, and transition.
The roof edge
Soffit, fascia, and gutters for rot, separation, and pest entry.
The attic side
Moisture staining, ventilation problems, and daylight where there shouldn't be any.
Coastal corrosion
Salt-air wear on fasteners and flashing gets extra attention on every coastal roof.
Every inspection ends in writing: photographs of what we found, where it is, and what it means — no driveway verdicts, no pressure. The honest outcome of most New Port Richey inspections is "you're fine, here's what to watch." When something does need attention, you get it documented with photos, so the decision is yours to make on evidence.

Storm Damage in New Port Richey
New Port Richey sits on the Gulf side of the storm ledger — and 2024 wrote two entries in two weeks. After it passes, a five-minute ground check tells you whether to call.
01 Ground scan first
Never climb after a storm. Missing tabs, sagging ridge lines, and displaced flashing all show from the yard.
02 Read the downspouts
A pile of granules at the splash block is the roof reporting damage.
03 Circle the property
Shingle pieces and drip-edge sections in the grass map where the wind got in.
04 Check ceilings that night
And again in a week — storm water can take days to show inside.
05 Document and call
Photos with dates from the ground; our written assessment fills in the rest.
Helene
dangerous storm surge into the Gulf coast, including coastal Pinellas (NOAA/NHC TCR AL092024)
Milton
landfall on Siesta Key; 20.40" of rain near St. Petersburg; record crests on the Hillsborough River (NOAA/NHC TCR AL142024)
Ian
one of the costliest hurricanes in Florida history; severe wind and flooding across the southwest coast (NOAA/NHC TCR AL092022)
We bring same-week assessments across Pasco County, emergency tarping when the roof needs immediate protection, and a written, photographed damage report — what happened and what fixing it involves, no scare tactics. Material choice is storm strategy too: every system carries its own tested wind rating, so we show you the rating for the exact product before you choose.
Residential Roofing
The right roof for a New Port Richey home follows the house, the owner's horizon, and the budget across thirty years — not the material a salesman happens to carry.

56.9% of occupied homes in New Port Richey are owner-occupied, and the median owner-occupied home value is $183,100 (U.S. Census Bureau QuickFacts, 2020–2024). Ours is the math of protecting that investment: the right system, installed to specification, maintained on a schedule.
We install every mainstream system — shingle, metal, tile, and flat — so the recommendation follows your house and budget, not whichever material a contractor happens to sell. The full comparison is below.
The house & neighborhood
Age, style, and what the street is built around — a roof has to belong where it lives.
Your ownership horizon
Selling in five years and staying thirty produce different right answers.
Budget, now vs. 30 years
Upfront cost against lifetime cost — repairs, energy, and how many more roofs you'll buy.
Installation quality
The same materials last longer or fail early depending on underlayment, ventilation, and flashing work.
Commercial Roofing
A commercial roof in New Port Richey protects inventory, equipment, and people, and it is built under the Florida Building Code, rated among the strongest of the hurricane-coast states by IBHS.

Commercial decisions in New Port Richey come down to decades-math: purchase price against energy costs, storm resilience, and maintenance across the building's life. We'll show the comparison for your specific building rather than defaulting to whichever membrane is on the truck.
Then maintenance decides everything: annual and post-storm inspections, drains kept clear, membrane and flashing repairs done promptly. Our plans put all of it on a documented schedule so the roof's history is always current and provable.
Project-specific code review
Confirm the applicable requirements using the roof’s permit history, existing assembly and proposed work. A damage percentage alone does not settle the scope.
Licensing & permits
Commercial roof repairs and installations require a Florida-licensed contractor, and most need a permit from the local building department.
System choice
TPO for energy efficiency; metal for hurricane resistance and lifespan; modified bitumen where the deck calls for it.
Maintenance cadence
Annual and post-storm inspections, clear drains, prompt membrane repairs — where commercial roofs are won or lost.
Gutters, Soffit & Fascia
The roof edge is a common starting point for water damage in New Port Richey, and it can fail quietly for years before it shows.

Contained damage is a focused repair; widespread rot or end-of-life materials are a replacement call — and the smart timing is with a roof replacement or in the fall, ahead of storm season. Material picks for this climate: vinyl soffit for moisture, aluminum fascia for corrosion, seamless aluminum gutters for Florida rainfall.
Soft or spongy fascia
The material underneath is already compromised — past the repair window.
Stains on exterior walls
Water escaping the drainage path and running where it shouldn't.
Sagging, overflowing gutters
Chronic overflow usually means repairs are no longer keeping up.
Rust at the seams
Sectional gutters fail at their joints — seamless aluminum has far fewer of them.
Want eyes on your roof this week?
Free inspection, honest findings, zero pressure — most end with "you're fine."

| System | Realistic Florida life | Wind rating (installed right) | Cost tier | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Metal (standing seam) | Varies by product; ask for the warranty term | Product-specific; we show you the rating | $$$ | Longevity, storms, energy bills |
| Architectural shingle | About 20 years | Class H shingles: rated for design wind speeds up to 194 mph | $ | Value, fast storm repairs |
| Tile (clay/concrete) | Over 50 years | High, code-driven | $$$ | Permanence, the Florida look |
| Metlok (only at Universal) | 50-year limited lifetime warranty | 180+ mph tested wind rating | $$$ | Longevity, high-wind exposure |
What moves every quote regardless of material: pitch and complexity, the product tier within the material, specialist labor where tile demands it, and structural reinforcement when weight requires it. Florida law also requires insurers to offer premium credits for wind-resistant construction features — a wind mitigation inspection documents what your roof qualifies for.

New Port Richey Roofing Questions
Does every New Port Richey mailing address use the city Building Division?
Confirm the parcel first. The city describes its Building Division’s responsibility as work within city limits. A mailing address alone does not establish whether the city or Pasco County handles the project.
What makes a New Port Richey repair proposal useful?
It identifies the affected location, the work being performed, relevant photos and any remaining limitations. It should also say whether attached roof areas are included or excluded.
What should a rental owner arrange before roof work here?
An authorized contact, tenant notice, access to the inspection areas and a process for scope decisions. Put delivery, debris and entrance arrangements in the plan before work starts.
What should a New Port Richey roof replacement estimate include?
Look for the measured roof areas, chosen covering and underlayment, included edge and penetration work, disposal, and any exclusions. Ask how concealed damage will be documented and approved before extra work proceeds.
Can you assess a repair before recommending replacement?
Yes. An inspection helps distinguish a contained problem from wider deterioration. Ask which materials can remain, what the proposed repair addresses and whether any areas could not be inspected.
Is the roof inspection in New Port Richey free?
Yes. Universal offers a free roof inspection with photos and a written condition report, without an obligation to buy roofing work. Request a visit through the inspection form or call to discuss the property.
How should I plan the roof-work schedule?
Confirm material selection, access and any applicable approvals first. Ask for a project-specific window and how weather or concealed conditions could affect it. Do not assume every roof can be finished in the same number of days.
What information helps when I book a visit?
The property address, the building type, a description of the concern and any previous roof records. Tell us about separate additions, access arrangements or an association contact before the inspection.
