Tom McVicker and Richard Adamson were very helpful and professional in getting my hurricane Milton damage repaired. Complete roof and soffit replacement, their crews were prompt and efficient.

Getting an estimate from Universal was a great experience. David was very personable, through and professional. My interaction with him was a pleasurable experience and I would recommend Universal in the future to anyone who needs a new roof. His attention to detail was extraordinary. He was the only one who went up into the crawl space to see what damage had occured from the water leaking through. The materials suggested were of high grade and top notch. It was easy to communicate with Dave and the office personal. My questions were always addressed in a timely fashion. I went with a lower bid and it turned out to be a disaster to save a few thousands dollars. I should of had Universal perform the work and regret my decision not too. The professionalism of the whole process from Universal was second to none. If you need a new roof Universal is the company for you. With regret. Scott
After damage from Milton I met with 4 roofing companies. I opted to go with Universal after discussing my options with Richard Adamson. He laid out clearly what would be needed, and then later returned to go over the selection and explain the warranty etc. Marissa went over the scheduling and what the expected procedures are once they start. She was also very understanding of my issues with my insurer and accommodated a last minute re-schedule. Yordanis had the roofing crew there at sun-up, and they were done by mid-afternoon. Besides the obvious noise, one would be hard pressed to know they had just replaced my roof. Two days later a Pasco county inspector came and gave the all-clear. Two days after that, Yordanis had another crew at my house to install the gutters. I had a couple of queries once all was said and done, and Yordanis was very prompt at returning my texts. All in all, a very expeditious and satisfying process once I got passed the insurance company.
We’re very pleased with our new roof that Universal installed. They made the process easy and simple. From our salesman, Ben, to the Project Manager, Jonathan, the back office, and of course, the Crew who installed the roof. The whole Team were very professional and made the experience worthwhile. Ben even stopped by at the end of the installation to make sure we were pleased with the workmanship. Thank you, Ben!
I want to give a special mention to Johnathan Gil at Universal Roofing. Our roof looks fantastic! We really appreciate all of your hard work and commitment. Johnathan took the time to address all of our concerns and answer our questions throughout the entire process, ensuring we were happy in the end. He even checked in a few weeks after the job was finished. Universal Roofing Tampa definitely deserves five stars! Thank you! The Kenyons.
Everything went smoothly especially considering I was selling my house at the time. The work was good and the communication was as well. The only reason I wouldn't give it a 5 star was the original color I had ordered ended up not being available without a special order which meant a considerable delay. With my house on the market, I didn't have the time. I have to say I was disappointed that I had to compromise on the color.
We had Universal come out for a quote, and David was great. They responded next day and had everything scheduled quickly. Our PM Tom was awesome too. He was quick to communicate and rectify and questions that popped up through the build.
If you're looking for a quality roofing company in Tampa, I highly recommend Universal Roof & Contracting. They recently repaired my roof, and the entire process was seamless. Richard Adamson was really helpful, he took the time to explain everything and made sure the job was done right. The team was professional, timely, and the quality of their work is top-notch. I couldn't be happier with the results!
Had a minor issue and Johnathan Gil corrected quickly.

Citrus Park Homes and What Their Roofs Face
The weather those roofs answer to is measurable. NOAA's 1991–2020 normals for the St Petersburg Ap station put annual rainfall at 46.65 inches, with 63% of it falling June through September and 8.39 inches in August alone. Most of that rain arrives in summer storms, often wind-driven, and it finds any weak flashing detail on Citrus Park rooflines quickly.
Salt, sun, and that rainfall all work on Citrus Park roofs, and edges, penetrations and fasteners are where we start every inspection.
Storms Citrus Park Has Answered To
Citrus Park sits in the Gulf storm region, and the record is specific: Helene (2024) — dangerous storm surge into the Gulf coast, including coastal Pinellas (NOAA/NHC TCR AL092024). Milton (2024) — landfall on Siesta Key; 20.40" of rain near St. Petersburg; record crests on the Hillsborough River (NOAA/NHC TCR AL142024).
After any of those, the useful thing a homeowner can do is document from the ground: photograph what is visible, note the date, check ceilings that night and again a week later. Then get a professional assessment before small openings become interior damage. We run storm routes across Hillsborough County and put findings in writing with photographs — no scare tactics, no inflated damage lists.

Citrus Park Roofing Questions
Is the inspection really free?
Yes, genuinely: no fee, no obligation, and you keep the written report and photos either way. It's how we've introduced ourselves to Florida homeowners since 1993 — many inspections end with good news and a watch list.
How long do roofs last in Citrus Park?
Realistic numbers for Citrus Park: architectural asphalt shingle about 20 years and clay or concrete tile more than 50 years with proper care, based on a National Association of Home Builders study. Metal life depends on the product, so ask for its warranty term. Installation quality decides which end of the range your roof lands on.
Can a handyman repair a roof in Florida?
No. Florida's licensing agency says roof repairs and roof installations require a state license. Verify the license and insurance before hiring anyone. Universal Roof & Contracting is state-licensed (CCC057165 & CBC1258484) and fully insured.
