I would like to take this opportunity to to praise the job Universal Roofing & Contracting Company did on the installation of my new roof the crew arrived on time and completed the job the same day my roof is approximately 4600sf and it was pitch dark when the crew finished and not one piece of old tile was left on the ground Kudos to the estimator David who kept me informed from start to finish and provided me with all documents in a timely manner and also Kudos to the on site supervisor Jonothan who was truly on the job I would truly recommend this company to anyone seeking to get a roof replacement and lastly this company also gives a Veterans discount
Bob and I would like to share our experience with Universal Roof and Contracting/Tampa. We recently determined we needed a new roof and reached out to five companies to get estimates. Of the five David Labaze stood out with his product knowledge and patience to answer any all all questions regarding our selection of Owens Corning Shingles, and Universal Roofing. He even went so far as to bring out a product board for us to bring to our HOA for approval. Once that determination was made we were assigned Yordanis Segura as our Project Manger who immediately gave us peace of mind as he was our contact through the entire roofing project. He was on top of every step of our roofing project including inspecting the work of the professionals installing various aspects of our project. In conclusion, David and Yordanis are two standout employees of Universal, which is giving us the confidence and security of our new roof covering our home. Both of us would not hesitate to give our recommendation for your new roofing experience. Bob and Kathy Hemann

Would like to commend project manager Jordanian Segura cannot say enough about the exceptional service from the moment we met professional courteous as well as meticulous . He didn’t make excuses he got it done. He should be valued in the company and known as one to be depended on. He came into this job after completion and rectified the issue without question a true professional Thank you Jordanis Sincerely Mr and Mrs Schneider Port Richey, Fl
Excellent service. Extensive water damage discovered and repaired on my roof. We had no idea since our home was only 10 years old. Before long we would have had water damage inside the house if not discovered and repaired. URC did a great job for us! Very pleased with the results.

Universal Roof & Contracting serves Temple Terrace with every major roofing service — repair, replacement, inspections, storm response, gutters, and all four mainstream roof systems — from our Tampa Bay office. Family-owned since 1993, BBB-accredited with an A+ rating, and Owens Corning Platinum Preferred. This page is the whole picture in one place; every section links to the full service behind it.
Temple Terrace is an incorporated city in Hillsborough County, incorporated in 1925. Early in the 1900s, Chicago businesswoman Bertha Palmer bought the land as a hunting preserve. After her death in 1918, new owners formed two companies to develop a golf course and homes, and in the 1920s one of them developed a 5,000-acre orange grove.
The city is named for the temple oranges that grew on its rolling terraces, and in 1925 it was promoted as Florida's first golf course community. Mediterranean Revival homes from the 1920s still stand among newer homes along its tree-canopied streets. The 2020 Census counted 26,690 residents.
The weather those roofs answer to is measurable. NOAA's 1991–2020 normals for the St Petersburg Ap station put annual rainfall at 46.65 inches, with 63% of it falling June through September and 8.39 inches in August alone. Most of that rain arrives in summer storms, often wind-driven, and it finds any weak flashing detail on Temple Terrace rooflines quickly.
Add salt air off the water and Florida UV, and all of it works on Temple Terrace roofs. Edges, penetrations and fasteners are where our inspections start here.
Temple Terrace sits in the Gulf storm region, and the record is specific: Helene (2024) — dangerous storm surge into the Gulf coast, including coastal Pinellas (NOAA/NHC TCR AL092024). Milton (2024) — landfall on Siesta Key; 20.40" of rain near St. Petersburg; record crests on the Hillsborough River (NOAA/NHC TCR AL142024).
After any of those, the useful thing a homeowner can do is document from the ground: photograph what is visible, note the date, check ceilings that night and again a week later. Then get a professional assessment before small openings become interior damage. We run storm routes across Hillsborough County and put findings in writing with photographs — no scare tactics, no inflated damage lists.
Not sure which of these your roof needs?
The free inspection answers it with photos and a written report.
Everything the Tampa Bay crews do runs through Temple Terrace: roof repair, full replacement installed to manufacturer specification, free documented inspections, storm response, commercial systems, and the roof edge — soffit, fascia and seamless gutters. Materials: metal, architectural shingle, tile, and our exclusive Metlok system.
Universal Roof & Contracting has been family-owned since 1993 — state-licensed (CCC057165 & CBC1258484), fully insured, BBB-accredited with an A+ rating, and an Owens Corning Platinum Preferred Contractor, a tier held by fewer than 1% of roofing contractors. Estimates are free and itemized; the inspection comes back as photographs and a written report you keep either way.
From the ground: photograph the damage you can see, note when it happened, and check ceilings that night and again in a week. Then get it professionally assessed — we cover Hillsborough County with same-week storm visits, emergency tarping, and written, photographed reports.
Completely. You get the walkthrough, the photographs, and a written condition report at no cost, no strings — the report is yours even if we never hear from you again. Most end with 'you're fine, here's what to watch.'
Realistic numbers for Temple Terrace: architectural asphalt shingle about 20 years and clay or concrete tile more than 50 years with proper care, based on a National Association of Home Builders study. Metal life depends on the product, so ask for its warranty term. Installation quality decides which end of the range your roof lands on.
