Where we work

About Parrish

Parrish is a community in Manatee County that began in 1850 as Oak Hill, a plantation owned by cattleman William B. Hooker. In 1869, the family of Crawford Parrish bought part of the land, where they raised sheep, set up a school and planted citrus groves.

In 1902 the Seaboard Air Line Railroad opened a stop at Oak Hill on land donated by John Parrish, and the station took the family name, which soon replaced Oak Hill. The area stayed agricultural for more than a century, but since the late 2000s new subdivisions on former farmland have brought new schools, businesses, restaurants and stores.

What we see here

Parrish Homes and What Their Roofs Face

The weather those roofs answer to is measurable. NOAA's 1991–2020 normals for the St Petersburg Ap station put annual rainfall at 46.65 inches, with 63% of it falling June through September and 8.39 inches in August alone. Most of that rain arrives in summer storms, often wind-driven, and it finds any weak flashing detail on Parrish rooflines quickly.

Combine that rainfall with coastal salt and UV, and Parrish roofs have a lot working on them. We inspect the details first: flashing, penetrations, the roof edge.

Storm exposure

Storms Parrish Has Answered To

Parrish sits in the Gulf storm region, and the record is specific: Helene (2024) — dangerous storm surge into the Gulf coast, including coastal Pinellas (NOAA/NHC TCR AL092024). Milton (2024) — landfall on Siesta Key; 20.40" of rain near St. Petersburg; record crests on the Hillsborough River (NOAA/NHC TCR AL142024).

After any of those, the useful thing a homeowner can do is document from the ground: photograph what is visible, note the date, check ceilings that night and again a week later. Then get a professional assessment before small openings become interior damage. We run storm routes across Manatee County and put findings in writing with photographs — no scare tactics, no inflated damage lists.

The free inspection answers it with photos and a written report.

Straight answers

Parrish Roofing Questions

Repair or replace — how do you decide?

Two questions decide it: how contained is the damage, and how much life does the field have left? Contained plus years remaining equals repair; spreading wear or a roof in its last stretch equals a replacement conversation, since patch money on a dying roof rarely buys much time. Either way, our recommendation comes documented.

What does a roof replacement cost in Parrish?

No honest number exists without seeing the roof — size, pitch, tear-off depth, decking condition, and the material system move the total more than any average can capture. What we promise Parrish homeowners instead: a free inspection first, then a line-by-line estimate where the approved price is the built price.

What time of year is best for roof work here?

Roofing runs twelve months a year across the Suncoast, but if you can choose, choose fall: cooler working conditions, better material handling, and a finished roof standing before the next storm season opens.
