Competitively priced, wanted to make sure I was getting a good roof, warranty, and with a company I expect to stand behind their work. We had quite extensive wood-rot and so the project took a bit longer than originally expected, but kept me updated throughout the process. Had a few minor hiccups during our roof replacement, but we notified the project manager who made sure slight aesthetic issues were fixed with our nit-picky HOA. Made sure I was taken care of as a customer at the end of the day and stood behind their work, which is often rare to find.

The town

About New Smyrna Beach

New Smyrna Beach is an incorporated city in Volusia County. In 1768, Dr. Andrew Turnbull, a Scottish physician, established a settlement here with about 1,500 Greek, Italian and Minorcan colonists. The Town of New Smyrna was incorporated in 1887 with 150 residents, and Henry Flagler's Florida East Coast Railway arrived in 1892.

At the city's request, the National Register of Historic Places lists the New Smyrna Beach Historic District, the Coronado Historic District and the Turnbull Canal System. Most of the city's historic buildings date from 1900 to 1930. The 2020 Census counted 30,142 residents.

On these roofs

New Smyrna Beach Homes and What Their Roofs Face

The weather those roofs answer to is measurable. NOAA's 1991–2020 normals for the Orlando Intl Ap station put annual rainfall at 51.45 inches, with 57% of it falling June through September and 8.05 inches in June alone. Most of that rain arrives in summer storms, often wind-driven, and it finds any weak flashing detail on New Smyrna Beach rooflines quickly.

Add salt air off the water and Florida UV, and all of it works on New Smyrna Beach roofs. Edges, penetrations and fasteners are where our inspections start here.

Weather history

Storms New Smyrna Beach Has Answered To

New Smyrna Beach sits in the Atlantic storm region, and the record is specific: Nicole (2022) — November landfall at Vero Beach; storm surge and beach erosion damage up the east coast to Jacksonville (NOAA/NHC TCR AL172022). Matthew (2016) — paralleled the northeast Florida coast; significant wind and surge damage from the Space Coast to Jacksonville (NOAA/NHC TCR AL142016).

After any of those, the useful thing a homeowner can do is document from the ground: photograph what is visible, note the date, check ceilings that night and again a week later. Then get a professional assessment before small openings become interior damage. We run storm routes across Volusia County and put findings in writing with photographs — no scare tactics, no inflated damage lists.

Straight answers

New Smyrna Beach Roofing Questions

Repair or replace — how do you decide?

Localized damage on a roof with life left: repair. Widespread wear, repeating leaks, or a roof near the end of its lifespan: replacement is often a better value than repeated patching. We put the recommendation in writing with photos so you can decide without pressure.

What does a roof replacement cost in New Smyrna Beach?

Five inputs set it: size and pitch, how many layers come off, what the decking looks like underneath, which system goes on, and the detail work at flashings and ventilation. That's why quotes-by-phone are guesses. Ours start with a free inspection and arrive itemized, line by line.

What time of year is best for roof work here?

Roofing runs twelve months a year across the Daytona area, but if you can choose, choose fall: cooler working conditions, better material handling, and a finished roof standing before the next storm season opens.
