Seamless Gutters in Orlando

Orlando averages about 51 inches of rain a year, and roughly eight of those arrive in August alone. Gutter sized for a milder climate simply cannot carry that — which is why so many Central Florida gutters sheet water over the front edge in an ordinary summer storm.

Jim and Tracy and their whole crew are exceptional. Roofing is one of those jobs that 99% of all consumers have no clue. One must trust what they are told. So many of the roofers are full of you know what and sell you more than you need. Universal is the opposite. They tell you what you need and even suggest options that save money. They tell you the pros and cons of each alternative. I could go on and on however suffice it to say that Universal is the best.

Having a re-roof is a stressful time but I knew to call Universal Roofing Inc from my previous experience with them from my old address. It's a step-by-step process (weather permitting) which Tracy (V.P.) walked me through. From customer service, explanation of roof products, to permits and completion was less stressful having an experienced company... and roof looks great! Thank you Universal Roofing Inc.

Local conditions

Why Orlando gutters overflow

Central Florida's summer thunderstorm frequency matches the world's maximum thunderstorm zones, per the FSU Climate Center. That is not one big storm a season — it is most afternoons for four months, each dumping a large volume in a short window. Gutter capacity is about peak rate, not annual total, and this is a metro with an extreme peak rate.

The other Orlando factor is tree canopy. Mature oaks across Winter Park, Maitland and the older neighbourhoods fill troughs with leaf litter and catkins fast. A gutter that is 40% full of debris has lost 40% of the capacity it needed on the day it mattered.

Put those together and the failure is predictable: the trough backs up, water sheets over the front edge, and it pours down the fascia board the gutter is bolted to. The gutter looks like the problem. The rotted fascia behind it is the bill.

On Orlando homes specifically

What we actually find

01

Undersized trough

Many Orlando homes need a larger gutter and more downspouts than the builder fitted.

02

Debris back-up under oak canopy

Winter Park and the older neighbourhoods fill troughs fastest. This is where guards genuinely earn their cost — on an open lot they don't.

03

Fascia rot behind the run

One of the most common things we get called about. The gutter overflowed for years and the board behind it softened.

04

Downspouts discharging at the slab

Water dumped straight at the foundation line, eroding beds and splashing back onto the wall.

What we do

Installation, repair, replacement and guards

Seamless installation

Formed on site to the exact length of each run, so the only joins are at corners and outlets.

Repair and re-hang

Sagging runs, pulled fasteners, separated corners and pitch that no longer drains.

Replacement

When the run is corroded, repeatedly patched, or was undersized from the start.

Gutter guards

Worth it under heavy tree cover, not on an open lot. We'll tell you which you are.

Gutters and the roof edge fail together. A run that overflows pours water down the fascia board in Orlando it's bolted to, so we look at both together — and both are covered by the same free inspection.

Orlando gutter questions

What size gutters do Orlando homes need?

Many need a larger gutter and more downspouts than the builder fitted. Orlando's rainfall peak rate is what matters — about 51 inches a year with roughly eight of them in August. Roof area and pitch count too, and the largest valley on the roof matters most of all, because it funnels an enormous volume into one short section of trough. We size every run to the roof it serves.

How much does seamless gutter installation cost in Orlando?

It's priced by the linear foot and depends on profile size, run height, and how many corners and downspouts the roof needs. We measure and quote in writing. If we're already up there for a free roof inspection, the gutter assessment costs nothing extra.

Are gutter guards worth it in Orlando?

Under the oak canopy in Winter Park, Maitland and the older neighbourhoods — genuinely yes, because debris back-up is the local failure mode. On a newer open lot in Kissimmee or Winter Garden with no overhanging trees, they solve a problem you don't have. We'll tell you which you are.

My gutters overflow in every storm. Is that normal?

It's common in Central Florida and it is not normal. It means the system can't carry the peak rate — either the trough is undersized, there aren't enough downspouts, or debris has taken the capacity. All three are fixable, and all three are quietly rotting the fascia while they continue.

Which Orlando areas do you cover?

Winter Park, Apopka, Lake Mary, Oviedo, Sanford, Kissimmee, Winter Garden and the rest of Orange, Seminole, Osceola, Lake and Volusia counties, from our headquarters on Carder Road.
