18 Feb Universal Contracting Community Works – Supports FL Fire Fighters
…the righteous give and do not hold back. Proverbs 21:26
With a heart for people and a desire to build up our community, the Universal Roof & Contracting family has always contributed to the improvement of the lives and circumstances of those around us. Our new “Community Works” division is devoted to promoting restoration, healing and progress within the Central Florida community. Always on the lookout for new ways to help, we recently donated to the Davenport Fire Department to help complete their new parking facility.
The Davenport Fire Department was formed in 1926 and operated as an all-volunteer department until 2004. In 2009, the department restructured in order to provide the best possible service to its citizens. Today the department has six full-time firefighters, 10 reserve firefighters and eight auxiliary firefighters. Professionally trained personnel provide fire protection, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response and mitigation, fire prevention and inspection, community education, and disaster planning service. Polk County is the eighth most populated county in the state with 583,403 residents. Davenport Fire Department provides fire suppression and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) services to the residents of Davenport and the surrounding area.
