13 Mar Universal Contracting Community Works – Community Food & Outreach
…the righteous give and do not hold back. Proverbs 21:26
This weekend, TEAM UCCW – Universal Contracting Community Works – is headed downtown to the Community Food & Outreach Center (CFOC). Our group of associates and family members is now regularly participating in the center’s monthly family Volunteer Night that is intended to bring families together in the spirit of service. Along with pizza, music and fun, together we will help to organize their Cost Share Grocery, the Emergency Food Pantry and the Community Thrift Center.
This Community Food & Outreach Center volunteer program is open to anyone with the heart to serve. “We are really trying to make CFOC a place where people want to volunteer. It’s going to become one of our pillars!” says Mark Perez, the center’s Volunteer Coordinator. CFOC’s mission to “help those in need to transform their lives by providing food, crisis care, opportunities for education and employment” is consistent with the heart of the Mellick family and the vision of Universal Contracting Community Works.
Looking forward to our first Family Volunteer Night on March 14th, we are priveledged to join efforts with this non-profit organization which provides a hand up for people in need, helping them to break free from the cycle of poverty. The many programs offered by the Community Food & Outreach Center focus on giving area working poor families a positive hand up during their greatest time of need.
