19 May Universal Associates & Friends Volunteer at Freedom Ride

With a heart for people and a desire to build up our community, the Universal Roof & Contracting family has always enjoyed contributing to the improvement of the lives and circumstances of those around us. From food donations to veteran benefit programs, family members and employees alike have partnered over the years with community projects to impact our area residents in a positive way.
This May, a group of our associates and friends gathered to donate their time to help the local organization, Freedom Ride. This non-profit 501c3 volunteer based organization’s goal is to enrich the lives and experiences of children and adults with disabilities through therapeutic horseback riding and related activities. Built on the conviction that people are not bound by their physical limitations, Freedom Ride’s team of loyal horses, PATH International Certified Instructors, Therapist and Trained Volunteers provide therapeutic horseback riding to children and adults with many types of disabilities including cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, and autism.
Ten acres of fenced pastures and stables are home to nearly a dozen gentle horses on site. The Universal Roof & Contracting Community Works group was pleased to tour the property, meet the horses and paint a section of fences. Freedom Ride relies on volunteer groups and donations of the community to maintain the grounds and support the many needs of upkeep and the rehabilitation programs.
